Box.net has added single sign on capabilties for enterprise partners using Ping Identity technology.

Enterprise customers are always looking for more Single Sign On (SSO) options, as SSO cuts down on the number of passwords users have to maintain. In addition, SSO offers a more unified experience for the end user, which further reduces support.

Box.net recently saw a surge in enterprise traffic as more enterprises begin to leverage the cloud for collaboration. Integrating SSO helps Box.net sweeten the deal a bit more for its enterprise customers, and possibly close more deals. Ping claims that 35% of its partners saw increased revenue streams by offering SSO to potential customers.

Ping Identity specializes in providing SSO options to third party software partners via its PingFederate technology. Ping Identity claims its solution is quick to deploy. Average deployment times for existing users is under 30 minutes, and under 2 hours for new users.

More information on Box.net using PingFederate is available on Ping Identity’s website (PDF).
