Google Buys Up Quickoffice, Gives Microsoft Agita

Quickoffice logoGoogle yesterday announced that it has acquired Quickoffice.

You might wonder why Google, with its Docs juggernaut would need a company that provides apps that allow users on iOS, Android and Symbian devices view and edit Word, Excel and Powerpoint files and open and annotate PDFs.

It could just mean that Google realizes that not everyone wants to deal with the downsides of converting Microsoft documents to its Docs format and all the workarounds that comes with it.
