| Can you put an extension on a dual antenna router/AP so that one antenna is in a different location away from the AP? | |
![]() | Wireless routers and APs with dual antennas usually support diversity and will switch to whichever antenna is providing a better signal. So locating one of the antennas so that it avoids an obstacle is a good idea for improving performance. However, you should use as short a cable as possible--under 10 feet--or use good quality low-loss cable if you have to locate the antenna further away.
