Secure Computing Corporation today announced a newly enhanced version
of its all-in-one Internet appliance for small and medium-sized businesses and
remote offices.
The SnapGear with TrustedSource is the third Secure Computing product
integration with TrustedSource, the company's global reputation system. The new
product adds and enhanced VoIP capabilities, VPN offloading, connection tracking
snapshots, increased performance, and the ability to deliver customized local-language
versions.

Open source innovator and SNORT creator, Sourcefire, Inc., and
Insecure.Org, the creator of the Nmap Security Scanner, today announced
a licensing agreement for the parties to jointly develop open source vulnerability
scanning technology based on the general purpose Nmap Scripting Engine (NSE) embedded
within the Nmap network discovery tool.
Under the agreement, Insecure.Org will develop the engine while the Sourcefire
Vulnerability Research Team (VRT) will develop and contribute plug-ins for discovering

D-Link yesterday announced a new VPN SSL Firewall targeted at SMB buyers.
The D-Link DFL-S500 protects against viruses, worms, spyware, and hackers
on VPN connections by integrating network and endpoint security. The firewall
has seven LAN ports, two WAN ports, and a user-configurable server port. Other
features include remote management, bandwidth control and access policies, SNMP
support and e-mail alerts

SonicWALL last week introduced three new additions to its line of UTM/Firewall/VPN appliances.
The TZ 180 delivers gateway UTM scanning at twice the speed of SonicWALL's TZ 170. A new Security Dashboard provides a real-time snapshot of the number and type of security threats blocked by SonicWALL's threat prevention technology worldwide, as well as the threats blocked by the user's appliance. SonicWALL announced today that it has expanded the capabilities of its SSL-VPN series with new industry certifications and feature enhancements.
SonicWALL Firmware Version 2.1 for its SSL-VPN 2000 and 4000 appliances adds drag-and-drop functionality in the new Java version of the file shares applet. This new firmware version also provides LDAP authentication capabilities for multiple organizational units, and offers access control based on both existing Active Directory group and RADIUS group memberships. On Monday, Sourcefire — the company behind the open-source intrusion-detection application Snort — said that hackers could potentially execute malicious code on a system running Snort and gain access to confidential data.
The vulnerability was reported to Sourcefire by Internet Security Systems (ISS), the security arm of IBM.

ZyXEL today added an SSL gateway and mobile broadband router to its ZyWALL security product line.
The ZyWALL SSL-10 is an integrated SSL-VPN and Firewall appliance supporting 10 sessions in its base configuration and upgradeable to 25 sessions. Users have access to shared network resources through a single web page with user rights defined by login ID.
