The Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA) on Monday announced that Texas Instruments (TI) as its newest member. TI's membership brings the total number of MoCA members to 43, including 11 chip vendors.

In a separate release, the Alliance said that it counts one million nodes in deployment by systems vendors and service providers. MoCA interfaces are included in products such as PVR/DVR and client side set top boxes, broadband home routers, residential gateways, Ethernet to MoCA bridges and Optical Network Terminals. Companies fielding these products include 2Wire, Actiontec, Motorola, Mototech, Panasonic, Tellabs, Westell and Verizon's FiOS TV.
