Boingo Launches Worldwide Wi-Fi Service for Mobile Phones and Devices Print E-mail

February 12, 2007

Wholesale Wi-Fi network aggregator Boingo Wireless today announced what it says is the first global Internet service designed for Wi-Fi enabled mobile phones and devices.

Boingo Mobile lets users enjoy the Internet capabilities built into their handsets in Boingo’s hot spots around the world for a monthly flat rate of $7.95.

The Boingo Mobile software is currently available for Windows Mobile 5.0-based Smartphones or Pocket PC devices. Users can check the compatibility of their device and download the Boingo Mobile software from http://mobile.boingo.com/download/. The new Boingo Mobile service is also currently available to users of Belkin’s Wi-Fi Phone for Skype.

Boingo anticipates additional Wi-Fi enabled devices — mobile/cellular handsets, VoIP phones, mobile gaming consoles, MP3 players and digital cameras — will be available with integrated Boingo Mobile service "in the near future".
