Multi-Tech Systems today announced two wireless routers with PPTP/IPsec VPN endpoint capability. The new RouteFinder SOHO Security Appliances are aimed at branch offices that need secure access to a corporate LAN while providing the convenience of Wi-Fi.

The new appliances combine a stateful packet inspection firewall supporting up to 15 client-to-LAN or LAN-to-LAN IPSec or PPTP VPN tunnels and 3DES / AES encryption with an 802.11b/g Wi-Fi router. Other features include browser-based management, syslog support and built-in 4 port 10/100 switch.

The product is available with one (RF820-AP) or two (RF830-AP) WAN Ethernet ports. The dual-WAN model includes load balancing and VPN failover capabilities while the single port model includes a serial port for dialup backup.

Both models are expected to start shipping next quarter. Pricing is $349 for either the RF820-AP or RF830-AP.
