SonicWALL extends UTM line Print E-mail

SonicWALL last week introduced three new additions to its line of UTM/Firewall/VPN appliances.

The TZ 180 delivers gateway UTM scanning at twice the speed of SonicWALL's TZ 170. A new Security Dashboard provides a real-time snapshot of the number and type of security threats blocked by SonicWALL's threat prevention technology worldwide, as well as the threats blocked by the user's appliance. The TZ 180 Wireless adds wireless LAN capability with WPA2 support to the TZ 180's base feature set.

The TZ 180s ship standard with SonicOS 3.8, which offers a new registration and licensing wizard as well as a new setup wizard that makes installation faster and simpler for IT administrators. The TZ 180 and TZ 180 Wireless are available immediately.

The new TZ 190 Wireless enables users to create a secure 3G wireless broadband network with or without a fixed Internet connection. It provides a high- performance UTM firewall together with support for worldwide GSM- and CDMA-based 3G networks. Other features of the TZ 190 Series include automated failover/failback, PortShield architecture, and easy installation, management and reporting through SonicWALL's wizards and Security Dashboard.

The TZ 190 Wireless ships with SonicOS Enhanced operating system and will be available in mid 2007.
