Thecus today announced an updated version of its high-performance five-bay RAID NAS. The N5200PRO doubles the processor speed and memory of its predecessor, using a 1.5 GHz Intel Celeron M processor and 512MB of DDR memory. The N5200PRO features up to 5TB of capacity with five 3.5" SATA drive bays and supports multiple RAID levels, allowing multiple RAID volumes on a single system. The N5200PRO also supports iSCSI initiators, enabling users to access the N5200PRO as an iSCSI target device over the Internet or LAN. Other features include scheduled Power on/off and Wake-on-LAN, a bundled suite of backup utilities, including the Thecus Backup Utility and Nsync, LCD status screen and eSATA port for storage expansion. The N5200PRO is available in two models: the N5200B PRO with dual gigabit Ethernet ports supporting load balancing, failover and link aggregation; and the N5200BR PRO with a single gigabit Ethernet port and built-in four port gigabit switch. MSRPs are $850 and $900 for the N5200B PRO and N5200BR PRO respectively. Both products will be available by the end of this month.
