HP
and Microsoft have decided to delay shipment of the first product to use Microsoft's Windows Home Server operating system.

An HP spokesperson today said that the company and its partner Microsoft had decided to rework the MSS's software to make it more "user-friendly" to general consumers.

The HP spokesperson said that shipments, which according to media reports were slated to begin next month, were now being further delayed. Product will now be "in the channel in time for the holidays".

The Media Smart Server and Windows Home Server were introduced with much fanfare at the January Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
