Netgear today announced a new dual-mode security gateway that provides simultaneous support for up to 25 IPsec and 10 SSL VPN tunnels. The ProSafe Dual WAN Gigabit SSL VPN Firewall (FVS336G) has two gigabit WAN ports supporting load-balancing and fail-over modes and an integrated four-port 10/100/1000 Mbps switch. The 25 IPsec VPN tunnels can be used for remote client or site-to-site tunnels and support manual key and Internet Key Exchange Security Association (IKE SA) assignment. Other features include 56-bit (DES) 168-bit (3DES), or 256-bit (AES) encryption, MD5 or SHA-1 hashing, PKI with X.509 v.3 certificate support and IPsec NAT traversal. The 10 SSL tunnels support SSLv3 and TLS 1.0 versions with DES, 3DES, ARC4, AES (ECB, CBC, XCBC, CNTR) 128/256 bit encryption, MD5, SHA-1, MAC-MDS/SHA-1, HMAC-MD5/SHA-1 message integrity and RSA, Diffie-Hellman and self-generated certificates. Lan to WAN throughput is spec'd at 60 Mbps, with 16 Mbps of IPsec and 10 Mbps of SSL tunnel throughput. The FVS336G is backed by a lifetime warranty and is available now for $425 MSRP.
