Comparison of wireless security mode throughput. Selecting WEP or WPA/TKIP will limit maximum link rate to 54 Mbps (802.11g speed) and cause a throughput reduction of around 75%. Selecting WPA2 security will still cause a more than 10% throughput reduction.
