Netgear today announced the availability of a residential gateway with integrated 3G "femtocell" cellular base station. The DVG834GH Femtocell Voice Gateway incorporates an ADSL2+ modem, router with SPI+NAT firewall, 10/100 switch, 802.11g wireless access point, Voice over-IP (VoIP) and 3G "ZoneGate" femtocell technology from Ubiquisys Ltd.
The gateway also supports SIP and several popular codecs and TR-069 Remote Management. Evaluation units are available now for operator testing, with commercial availability expected during the first half of 2008. Pricing was not given.
