IOGEAR today announced a self-contained remote access appliance for PC's and KVMs.

Click to EnlargeThe PCPortal connects between a display and USB keyboard and mouse and the display and USB port on a computer or KVM server. No software is required on the computer or KVM and both Windows and Linux-based OSes are supported.

Access is via a web browser using SSL 128bit encryption. Eight users are supported, two of which can log on simultaneously. Other features include a message board and USB 2.0 Virtual Media Port support. This allows Windows XP users to attach a USB Flash Drive and use it as if it were plugged into a local USB port.

The GCN1000 PCPortal is priced at $499.95 (MSRP) and available immediately.
