Actiontec GT724WGR

Actiontec Electronics today introduced two new routers with integrated ADSL/ADSL2+ modems that will be sold at electronics retailers, including Best Buy.

The GT724WGR 54 Mbps Wireless DSL Modem combines an ADSL/ADSL2+ modem, 4 port 10/100 Ethernet switch, and 802.11b/g wireless router. The product is also available as the GT724R DSL Modem without integrated wireless.

Actiontec said that both products have been "rigorously tested to ensure full compatibility with all major DSL providers".

The full-rate ADSL2+ modem supports data rates of up to 24 Mbps downstream and up to 1 Mbps upstream. The products feature an Internet firewall with three levels of security and the 54 Mbps Wireless Modem supports WEP and WPA wireless security.

Both products are available now at street prices around $100 and $60 for the wireless and wired-only products respectively.
