DNS-343

D-Link last week finally formally announced its DNS-343 4-Bay Network Storage Enclosure, a four-drive, RAID 5 successor to its very successful DNS-323, dual-drive NAS.

The new BYOD NAS features a front panel OLED display and supports standard, JBOD, RAID 0, 1, and 5 modes. Other features include a gigabit Ethernet port with jumbo frame support, tool-less, cable-less drive installation, FTP, media and USB print servers and bundled Memeo client backup software.

Also shipping, but not formally announced, is the DNS-321, D-Link's second dual-drive BYOD NAS. A D-Link spokesperson said that the "flagship 2-bay NAS will still be the DNS-323" and that the 321 is a strategically-priced alternative.

The DNS-321 appears to support all the DNS-323's features including Standard, JBOD, RAID 0, and RAID 1 modes, UPnP AV media and FTP servers and gigabit Ethernet LAN port.

Both the DNS-321 and 343 are available now at street pricing as low as $118 and $388 respectively.
