Cisco today released Network Magic 5.0, the consumer network management application acquired from Pure Networks in July of this year.

The new version includes a new look, new interactive network map and enhanced in-product wizards. Also included is beefed-up security with improvements to the Network Health and Security Alerts, increased wireless protection via encryption support for WPA and WPA2 and new parental monitoring tools.

The Version 5.0 is available in three versions. Network Magic Essentials provides basic connectivity aids for tasks such as connecting two or three PCs to a share a network connection, files or a printer.

Network Magic Pro includes parental monitoring and control features including Internet access time limits, desktop screenshots and web browsing reporting.

Network Magic for Mac is an add-on for Network Magic Pro or Essentials for simplifying connection of a Mac and PC to share a printer or files.

The new Version 5.0 products are available now at MSRPs of $29.99 for Essentials, $49.99 for Pro and $25.00 for the Mac OS add-on. An upgrade from previous Network Magic versions to Network Magic Pro 5.0 is available for $24.99.
