E-mail Print

The company claims that the "N-Stream" Wireless LAN WCN1320 chip is the industry's first dual-band 802.11n chipset using 4x4 MIMO technology. The WCN1320 includes an internal high-speed application processor to run WLAN software within the chip to give OEMs the flexibility of using lower cost host processors in AP and wireless router designs.

The WCN1320 uses 65-nanometer CMOS process technology to combine an embedded applications processor, media-access controller, digital baseband, radio-frequency transceiver and system power-management in a single 12x12 mm package.

The device is expected to begin sampling before the end of this month. No pricing information was given.
