![]() NETGEAR introduced two new draft 11n dual-band routers, a 3G router, two networked media players and a diskless version of its popular ReadyNAS Pro six-bay NAS. The company also announced new service-provider-only products and a new HomePlug AV powerline to Ethernet bridge. The WNDR3700 RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router is a simultaneous Dual Band 2.4 GHz and 5GHz wireless router with Gigabit Ethernet ports and ability to share a USB external drive. The hardware platform using a 680 MHz MIPS processor with eight metamaterial antennas includes a "green" gigabit switch, video QoS and Wi-Fi Protected setup. It will be out this quarter at an MSRP of $179.
WNDR3700 RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Gigabit RouterThe DGND3300 RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Modem Router is a single-radio draft 802.11n dual-band router with integrated ADSL2+ modem and four-port 10/100 switch. It supports multiple SSIDs for guest access, WPS and can also be configured as a wireless repeater for range extension. It will also ship this quarter at an MSRP of $169.
DGND3300 RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Modem RouterThe MBR624GU 3G Mobile Broadband Wireless Router connects to a "compatible" (NETGEAR didn't provide a list) 3G USB modem to create a mobile 2.4 GHz 802.11b/g wireless LAN. It supports WPS, up to five IPsec VPN tunnels and wireless repeating / bridging. MSRP is $129 and it will be on sale this quarter.
MBR624GU 3G Mobile Broadband Wireless RouterNETGEAR's media players include the $199 (MSRP) ITV2000 Internet TV Player, which looks interesting, but won't ship until "early Summer". This is the first off-the-shelf device that I have seen that NETGEAR says will allow video streamed from any website to be displayed on a TV—without requiring a computer. The "slightly larger than a deck of cards" player connects via Ethernet or optional wireless USB adapter and also will play paid movies on demand from CinemaNow.com and downloaded videos. This I gotta see.
ITV2000 Internet TV PlayerNETGEAR has also kicked loose another in its "Digital Entertainer" networked media player line. The EVA9150 Digital Entertainer Elite has a built-in 500 GB hard drive, dual USB 2.0 ports and plays 1080p video, audio and displays digital still images via its Sigma Designs 8635 over a 10/100 Ethernet or dual-band draft 802.11n wireless network connections. Internet content, such as YouTube, Internet radio, Flickr, RSS feeds, and web videos can also be played via an applicaton running on a Windows PC. Formats supported include: The EVA9150 ships in February at an MSRP of $399.
EVA9150 Digital Entertainer EliteMoving along to more basic connectivity, NETGEAR has added the XAV1004 Powerline AV Adapter with 4-Port Ethernet Switch, a HomePlug AV adapter with an integrated 4-Port 10/100 switch. It's also available as part of the XAVB1004 Powerline AV Adapter Kit with 4-Port Ethernet Switch. Sorry, but NETGEAR didn't provide pricing or availabilty.
XAV1004 Powerline AV Adapter with 4-Port Ethernet SwitchIf you'd rather use coax for getting your Ethernet where it needs to go, the previously-announced MCAB1001 MoCA Coax-Ethernet Adapter Kit will also be shown.
MCAB1001 MoCA Coax-Ethernet Adapter KitLooks like NETGEAR is using CES to officially roll out the cheaper, BYOD version of its powerful ReadyNAS Pro six-bay NAS, the RNDP600E ReadyNAS Pro Pioneer Edition. NETGEAR didn't provide feature details or pricing in the announcement. But you can find a comparison matrix here and I have been told that street should be around $1200. The last group of products are available to service providers only. Intro'd were the WNMR834 Wireless-N MoCA Router (shown below), CGD34NT DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Data Gateway with 802.11n Wireless, DVG631G and DVG834G Families of ADSL2+ Voice/Data Gateways, VVG834 and VVG934 Families of VDSL2 Voice Data Gateways and EVG834N Gigabit Ethernet Voice Data Gateway.
