The NETGEAR MCAB1001 uses existing home coax wiring to extend Ethernet networks. Maximum raw throughput is specified at 270 Mbps, with usable throughput below 100 Mbps. NETGEAR says the bridge is designed to carry "multiple simultaneous HD video streams and online gaming applications".

The MoCA 1.0 certified bridge bridge works with up to 300 feet of standard coax but can't be used with satellite TV installations or without properly bypassed RF amplifiers. It is based on Entropic’s EN2210 chipset, which includes encryption and automatic QoS of networked data.

The kit includes two adapters with two F-type RF and one 10/100 Ethernet connectors, coax and Ethernet cables and AC power adapters. Street pricing will be $180 - $200 when the products hit retailers in Q1 2009.
