Gigle Networks has announced two design wins for its 1 Gbps powerline networking solution.
The company said that its GGL541 has been selected by GigaFast and Gemtek for use in those companies’ new powerline networking products.
Gigle says the GGL541 provides up to 1Gbps raw data rates over home AC powerlines via the company’s Mediaxtream technology, which extends 200Mbps HomePlug AV technology.
Gigle’s chipset first appeared in Belkin’s Gigabit Powerline HD Starter Kit.
NETGEAR today announced an online backup option for its ReadyNAS storage line and new stackable SMB and "green" switches at CeBIT in Hannover, Germany.
The PLA-400 HomePlug AV PowerLine Ethernet adapter and PLA-402 HomePlug AV PowerLine and coaxial Ethernet adapter are both spec'd at 200 Mbps maximum throughput and are said to support up to 16 connections "within one household".
