Amped Wireless Teams With MetaGeek For Better Wi-Fi Tools

Amped Wireless & MetaGeek logo Amped Wireless has partnered with MetaGeek to bundle MetaGeek’s free Wi-Fi analyzer tools.

The new deal allows Amped to distribute via download versions of MetaGeek’s popular inSSIDer Wi-Fi Scanner and also to bundle them with all Amped’s products.

The Amped Wireless Wi-Fi Analytics Tool for Windows is essentially a rebadged version of MetaGeek’s popular inSSIDer, with the main difference being different information presented in the Welcome tab as shown below.

The Android versions diverge in design. Amped’s version has a tabbed interface and a Signal Meter feature that inSSIDer doesn’t have.

Both the Windows and Android versions are free and can be downloaded from links on Amped Wireless’ website. The Android MetaGeek inSSIDer and Amped Wireless Wi-Fi Analytics Tool can also be downloaded from Google Play.

The Broadcom BCM4322 combines all of the elements of a wireless LAN subsystem onto a single silicon die, including 802.11 MAC, baseband processor, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios and other WLAN components. Broadcom claims that the device can deliver " over 200 Mbps of actual wireless throughput".
