As previously reported, the final issues holding up the standard were resolved in the Task Group's meeting in Montreal in May. Since then, Draft 11 of the standard has been wending its way through the balloting process. The last balloting concluded on July 3 with 91% approval.

The revised timeline calls for 802.11n to be presented at IEEE Standards Board meeting on September 11. Although the Board could reject the standard, approval is anticipated.
