The approval comes seven years from the day that the study group was first formed to work on the standard.

Now that the standard is officially released, the Wi-Fi Alliance should be releasing its revised 802.11n test suite any day now. But as earlier reported, products approved under the Draft 2.0 802.11n Certification process will be allowed to use the approved (non-draft) 802.11n logo without retesting.

So those of us owning draft 11n gear can celebrate today by just scraping the word "draft" off the boxes that our products came in. Enjoy your upgrade!
