Buffalo Adds Three Cedar View SMB NASes

Buffalo logo Buffalo has added three biz-class Atom-based NASes to its TeraStation line.

The three new NASes all run on a hardware platform using a 2.13 GHz Intel Atom D2700 "Cedar View" CPU and 2 GB of DDR3 RAM. All have dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, and the two desktop models have three USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports.

These new models come bundled with one license for Buffalo’s Surveillance Video Manager that supports high quality video recording, management and playback for up to 10 RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol) IP-based video surveillance cameras.

Other features include multiple volumes, hot spare, Active Directory and DFS Namespace support, disk quotas, iSCSI target, scheduled and real-time replication to other TeraStations, web and FTP/SFTP remote access, VMware Certification for NFS and 10 licenses of NovaBACKUP Business Essentials.

The TeraStation 5800 has eight hot-swappable drive bays supporting 3.5" SATA drives up to 4 TB that can be configured in multiple RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/51/60/61 volumes. It will replace the current TeraStation Pro 8 TS-8VL/R6 and be available at the end of this month at estimated street prices of $1799.99 for the 16 TB (TS5800D1608), $2,699.99 for the 24 TB (TS5800D2408) and $3,799.99 for the 32 TB (TS5800D3208).

The TeraStation 5600 has six hot-swappable drive bays supporting 3.5" SATA drives up to 3 TB that can be configured in multiple RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/51 volumes. It will replace the current TeraStation Pro 6 TS-6VL/R6 and be available at the end of this month at estimated street prices of $1599.99 for the 12 TB (TS5600D1206) and $1,999.99 for the 18 TB (TS5600D1806).

The TeraStation 5400r is a 1U rackmount NAS with four hot-swappable drive bays supporting 3.5" SATA drives up to 4 TB that can be configured in multiple RAID 0/1/5/6/10 volumes. The TeraStation 5400r will replace the current TeraStation Pro Rackmount TS-RVHL/R6 and will available in Q4 with pricing announced then.

All TeraStation 5000 models carry a limited three-year warranty with toll-free 24/7 US based technical support.
