Pogoplug has revamped its software offerings.

An email sent to Pogoplug customers last Thursday outlined the company’s plans for its software product that enables users to add Windows, Mac OS and Linux machines to their Pogoplug clouds.

Beginning Monday, Feb. 27, the Pogoplug Premium beta [reviewed] and free software downloads will be replaced by Pogoplug PC. In addition to remote access, Pogoplug PC adds most of the features found in Pogoplug hardware devices to the computer it is installed on. This includes the ability to access and stream PC files from in and outside of the house, back up mobile devices and one-click publish to Facebook, Twitter and Google+.

Also announced was Pogoplug Backup. This free program backs up any computer running it to a computer running Pogoplug PC.

Pogoplug PC includes a free 30-day full-feature trial. Current users of the Pogoplug free software will automatically begin their 30-day trial on Monday, Feb. 27. After that, Pogoplug PC will cost $29.95 for a license that works across all computers tied to your Pogoplug account.

Pogoplug Premium licenses will automatically transfer to Pogoplug PC for no additional charge.
