QNAP Announces D525 Atom NAS Line

QNAP today announced its new line of Intel D525 Atom based NASes.

Announced today are the 2-drive TS-259 Pro+, 4-drive TS-459 Pro+, 5-drive TS-559 Pro+ and 6-drive TS-659 Pro+.

All use new dual-core 1.8 GHz Intel D525 Atom processors and have 1GB RAM. QNAP says the new models can achieve up to 116 MB/s transfer rates for SMB and FTP transfers.

All run version 3.3 of QNAP’s OS with features including VMware vSphere4 (ESX 4.0) compatibility, iSCSI with SPC-3 Persistent Reservation, MPIO and MC/S support, DFS, IPv6, WebDAV, Apple Time Machine backup and volume-level AES 256-bit encryption.

Everything starts shipping this month with MSRPs of $619.00 (TS-259 Pro+), $949.00 (TS-459 Pro+), $1,199.00 (TS-559 Pro+) and $1,349.00 (TS-659 Pro+).
