QNAP Adds Budget Rackmount NAS Pair

QNAP logo QNAP has introduced two Marvell-powered rackmount NASes.

The TS-421U uses a 2.0 GHz Marvell 6282 CPU and the TS-420U is based on a 1.6 GHz Marvell 6282 CPU.

Other hardware features include 1 GB DDR3 RAM, 16 MB of flash, dual Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports supporting failover and aggregation, two USB 3.0, two USB 2.0 and two eSATA ports.

The new pair run QNAP’s v3.8.2 firmware with features including iSCSI target and initiator with SPC-3 persistent reservation and advanced MPIO and MC/S support, iSCSI LUN snapshot and backup, Windows ACL, VPN Server (OpenVPN and PPTP), Windows AD and LDAP support, Real Time Remote Replication (RTRR) and rsync backup and IP camera support via Surveillance Station Pro. Cloud storage options include AmazonS3, Google Drive, ElephantDrive and Symform.

The TS-420U and TS-421U are shipping now at MSRPs of $749 and $899, respectively.
