(IRVINE, CA) Hawking Technologies has announced the release of its HomeRemote home control system. The system uses Z-wave wireless technology, which is competing with Zigbee in the wireless control application market.
The HRGZ1 HomeRemote System consists of an internet gateway and handheld remote control for in-home control of lighting and appliances. The system also allows remote control via a standard Internet web browser or mobile phone and features live video monitoring from via HomeRemote Video Cameras (HRNC1).
The product line will begin shipping on March 1st. MSRP for the HomeRemote Gateway plus Remote Control will be $199.99 and $169.99 for the Wireless Video camera.
(LAS VEGAS, NV) D-Link announced that it will debut its first dual-band draft 802.11n Wireless Router at next week's CES.
The DIR-855 includes a 4-port 10/100/1000 Ethernet switch, WEP, WPA and WPA2 wireless security, NAT+SPI firewall and QoS engine for automatic prioritization of real-time application traffic.
The router is expected to ship in "late Q1", with pricing to be announced at time of shipment.
(Las Vegas, NV) UWB patent-meister Pulse~LINK announced that it be demonstrating its UWB-based CWave Whole-Home Interactive HD system at next week's Consumer Electronics show.
The system claims "true room-to-room networking of interactive HD multimedia content" using UWB technology. But it uses a home's coax cabling for the room-to-room part and goes wireless only within a room.

(SANTA CLARA, CA) Atheros today launched its "highest performance 802.11n solution to date". The AR5008AP-3NX2 chipset, combines Atheros XSPAN draft 802.11n technology with a newWireless Network Processor Unit (WNPU). The chipset supports concurrent 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WLAN and is said to deliver "up to 600 Mbps aggregate physical data rates"
