ZyXEL Has A New All-In-One Wireless Hotspot

ZyXEL logo ZyXEL announced a wireless hotspot with built-in thermal printer.

The UAG50 Unified Access Gateway is aimed at coffee shops, restaurants, cafes or other venues requiring hotspot wireless access for up to 50 devices. It combines an N300 class 2.4 GHz access point, thermal printer and routing engine with a built-in authentication and billing server.

The UAG50 can offer Wi-Fi for free with a terms of service redirect page, when a purchase is made, or as a paid service. Different billing terms can be set based on access time per minute, hour or day.

Features include support for up to 50 concurrent logins, billing system with 10 billing profiles, account generator and authentication portal. Optional licenses can be purchased to add application management, P2P application blocking and web content filtering.

The UAG50 can be set up as a wireless-only router, with WAN connection via its built-in 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port. Wired LAN connection can be made by attaching an included micro USB to Ethernet converter. The two external antennas are upgradeable.

The UAG50 will start shipping next month with a $349.99 MSRP. MSRP for the Application Management & P2P Blocking license is 1 Year $135 / 2 Years $235 and 1 Year $255 / 2 Years $425 for Web Content Filtering.
