Online storage provider Symform today said it is giving away free cloud storage.

For a limited time, the company is giving 100 GB of cloud storage for free to new and existing customers. The storage comes with no limits on number of devices, file sizes or upload speed.

Symform uses a method similar to BuddyBackup‘s, but with a more enterprise focus. It encrypts data blocks with AES-256 and unique 256 bit keys and divides each block into 96 redundant fragments before storing them to 96 randomly selected subscriber machines in different locations.

Subscribers must agree to provide 150 GB of their own local storage to Symform in exchange for any of its services, including the free account.

The system hosting the storage must be running Windows XP SP2 or later and have an always-on Internet connection with minimum bandwidth of 512Kbps Up and 1Mbps Down.

The free cloud storage can be kept indefinitely as long as the terms and conditions are met.

More storage is available at fixed monthly rates starting at $1800 for up to 50 systems and two servers. Customers with smaller requirements are handled through Symform reseller partners.
