Mvix Intros “Most”-Format 1080p Networked Media Player

Ultio is said to support "most" 1080p HD video codecs and formats including DivX (3/4/5/6), Xvid, MPEG 1/2/4, WMV-9, ASF(WMV9), MKV, DVD(IFO, VOB), ISO, MP3, WMA, AAC, OGG, FLAC and AC3. The full list of codecs and formats supported is here.

Media can be played from an internal 3.5" SATA hard drive (up to 1.5 TB), external USB drives or streamed via the 10/100 Ethernet port or optional wireless adapter. HDMI 1.3, component and composite video and digital optical and analog stereo audio outputs are provided.

Other features include an integrated BitTorrent client and UPnP AV support.

Mvix is also making Ultio’s entire source code available and encouraging users to develop new features and applications.

Ultio will be available in diskless and 1 TB diskful versions at suggested MSRPs of $169 and $259, respectively. Pre-orders are being accepted now for shipments starting next week.
