Ooma Releases Its Next Generation

Ooma today announced that its second generation VoIP product is now available.

Ooma Telo offers unlimited U.S. calling for $11.75 per year after the first year with caller ID, call waiting, voicemail and 911 service. Telo works with your existing phone or optional DECT 6.0 handset.

The optional Ooma Premier service adds a second line, voicemail screening, three-way conferencing and caller blacklisting.

Ooma Telo is available now and retails for $249.99 MSRP. Optional Ooma Premier costs $9.99 per month. Sign up for one year of Ooma Premier and receive a free Ooma Telo Handset (a $49.99 value) or free number porting (a $39.99 value).

(HUNTSVILLE, AL) Asterisk creator Digium today announced what it calls its "first software appliance", aimed at getting an Asterisk-based VoIP PBX up and running within 30 minutes.

AsteriskNOW is an open source distribution based on the recently released Asterisk 1.4, featuring a Digium-designed GUI. It includes a new setup wizard that guides users through the installation process "regardless of any previous Linux experience" and includes all the Linux components necessary to run, debug and build Asterisk.
