Google Voice and Sprint have combined forces to offer all of Sprint’s customers the power of Google’s cloud telephony service.

Google Voice has won a major partner in Sprint. All Sprint customers will now be able to use their number with Google Voice, or their Google Voice number as their primary cell phone number. Additionally, all voicemail services will now be provided by Google Voice. This gives the full feature set of transcribed voicemails, email, text, and additionally listen to voicemails via the web.

This looks to be a boon especially for international callers, as all international calls will route through Google Voice using rates much lower than traditional cellphone international calling rates. Additional features like call recording and call screening will make customers looking for a bit of privacy happy as well.

Sprint customers will be getting this feature “very soon”. You can check out the full launch details on Google’s Official Blog.
