EnGenius and Linksys have announced new managed switches
EnGenius yesterday added two Gigabit PoE+ switches to its Electron product line. The EGS7252FP 48-Port Gigabit PoE+ L2 Managed Switch with 4 Dual-Speed SFP and EGS7228FP 24-Port Gigabit PoE+ L2 Managed Switch with 4 Dual-Speed SFP are full-featured Gigabit Ethernet switches with comprehensive Layer 2 switching capabilities and PoE support.
Both models have four SMP slots for optional fiber uplinks and are managed via Web interface or SNMP. Features include IGMP Snooping, MLD Snooping, Port Mirroring, Rapid Spanning Tree, Multiple Spanning Tree, Spanning Tree, VLAN group, Voice VLAN, ACL, 802.1X port security with RADIUS authentication, SNMP v1/v2c/v3 and IEEE802.3ad Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP).
The EGS7252FP features 48 Gigabit PoE+ ports and supports IEEE802.3at/af with a total PoE budget of 740W. The EGS7252FP is now available at a MSRP of $1,299 and covered by a limited one-year warranty.
The EGS7228FP provides 24 Gigabit ports and supports IEEE802.3at/af with a total PoE budget of 370W. The EGS7228FP is available now at a MSRP of $799 and covered by a limited one-year warranty.
EnGenius EGS7228FP and EGS7252P
Today’s announcement from Linksys introduced the company’s first managed switches in 28 and 52 port configurations and with or without PoE+ support. All Gigabit ports are 802.3az energy efficient and the 52 port models have two 10 GbE uplink SFP+ ports.
Features supported in all models include port and 802.1Q tag based VLANs, automatic Voice VLAN, Guest VLAN and dynamic VLAN assignment, 802.1P tag and port based QoS with layer 2/3/4 Traffic Prioritization, storm control, IGMP Snooping, Rapid Spanning Tree- RSTP, BPDU flooding/filtering, 802.1X Port Security and DHCP Snooping and web or SNMP management.
