QNAP intros 8 bay rackmount NAS

The enterprise-grade TS-809U-RP Turbo runs on an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8 GHz CPU with 2 GB of DDRII memory. 8 hot-swappable 3.5" SATA drives can support up to 16 TB of storage.

RAID formats include 0/ 1/ 5/ 6/ 5+spare/ 6+spare with online RAID capacity Expansion and level migration. Other features include redundant power supplies, dual Gigabit LAN ports supporting load balancing or failover, iSCSI with Thin Provisioning and AES 256-bit volume-based encryption.

The TS-809U-RP supports the full QNAP feature set including a full-featured LAMP webserver with built-in phpMyAdmin, Joomla, MySQL, SQLite, editable php.ini and MySQL server.

Pricing and availability were not announced.
