The TS-x70 series is designed for scalability and can be expanded using multiple QNAP RAID expansion enclosures (REXP-1200U-RP / REXP-1600U-RP) to expand total storage to 100 TB of raw capacity.

QNAP said its internal testing shows reads up to 450 MB/s and writes up to 423 MB/s in "typical Windows environments in network trunking mode".

The new models all run QNAP’s QTS 4.0 NAS OS that supports a wide array of iSCSI, virtualization, backup and cloud storage options.

The TS-470, TS-670 and TS-870 are shipping now at street pricing starting around $1200.
