Seagate Revamps Business NAS Line

Seagate logoSeagate has released a new line of business NASes.

The new Seagate Business Storage family replaces the company’s Black Armor line and includes one, two and four-bay models. All models have Cavium CPUs with 512 MB of RAM on the four-bay model and 256 MB on the one and two-bays.

All three models have two USB 3.0 ports that support USB storage and printers. The single bay model has one Gigabit Ethernet LAN port while the two and four bay models have two ports.

The two-bay model supports RAID 0 and 1 and the four-bay supports RAID 0,1,5 and 10.

A unique feature of the two and four-bay models is a built-in Universal Storage Module (USM) slot for fast file transfers and backups.

All models support both local and networked backup and can serve as backup storage for Apple Time Machine. Other common features include secure hosted-portal based remote access to form a personal cloud accessible via web browser and iOS and Android apps, volume and folder encryption, Active Directory support, hot swappable drives, iSCSI target and UPnP/DLNA media serving.

The Business Storage 1-Bay NAS comes in 2, 3 and 4 TB configurations with MSRPs of $199, $249 and $329, respectively.

The Business Storage 2-Bay NAS comes in diskless, 4, 6 and 8 TB configurations with MSRPs of $199, $469, $549 and $749, respectively.

The Business Storage 4-Bay NAS comes in diskless, 4, 8, 12 and 16 TB configurations with MSRPs of $429, $599, $849, $999 and $1499, respectively.

All models come with a three-year limited warranty and will be available shortly.
