Thecus has announced an iOS app that enables monitoring of Thecus NASes

The Thecus Dashboard provides monitoring-only of key NAS hardware information including firmware version, up time, CPU loading, and fan status.

Status is also available for many services including FTP, AFP, SMB, NFS, Nsync and uPnP.

The free app can be downloaded from iTunes and requires iOS 4.1 or higher.

Iomega adds rackmount Terabyte RAID NAS

Iomega today announced a new rack-mount addition to its NAS product line. The new Iomega StorCenter Pro NAS 450r series is based on Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2003 R2 running on a Dual-Core Intel Xeon hardware platform packaged in a 1U rackmount format.

Four hot-swappable 7200-RPM SATA II drives can be configured for RAID 0, 1 or 5 and other hardware features include dual gigabit Ethernet connections, ECC memory, and an Ultra 320 SCSI (VHDC1) connection for high-speed archival backup. 250 and 500 GB drives are supported for a total of 1 or 2 GB of storage.
