Services & Apps

Google logoGoogle has released a new iPhone app, Google Translate, using its cloud-based infrastructure to handle translating spoken words into different languages.

Google Translate is a well-known service that Google uses to translate websites into other languages. The new iOS App adds voice recording features for translating spoken word and playing back the translation using speech synthesizers. This feature combination could prove very useful when venturing into a foreign country .

This latest iOS app continues Google's move from HTML5 applications to native iOS applications. Android has long had a native Google Translate app, but iOS users were stuck with a limited HTML5 version.

The app is available in the App Store now. More information can be found in this Google Blog Post.
