Compro recently announced an outdoor IP cam with PoE support.

The CS400P Outdoor Network Camera is a "bullet" style IP camera designed for outdoor deployment. Its IP66-grade aluminum housing and "double glass" construction protect against dust and water.

The camera has a 1/4" progressive scan image sensor with 1 lux minimum color illumination and supports up to 640 x 480 resolution @ 30 FPS using M-JPEG, H.264 video compression. A mechanical IR-cut filter improves daylight color reproduction and 30 IR LEDs provide night time illumination up to 20 m.

The CS400P is available now for around $269 street from NewEgg.

Linksys today announced a network camera aimed at small business surveillance applications. The WVC2300 Wireless-G Business Internet Video Camera with Audio is a AC-powered " box-type camera" supporting Ethernet and 802.11g wireless network connectivity.

The WVC2300 has a maximum 640x480 (VGA) resolution and 30 FPS frame rate and dual codecs (MPEG-4 and MJPEG) that can be used simultaneously. The camera uses a progressive scan CCD sensor with low-light sensitivity for image capture in low light environments or "near dark" conditions. An IR Cut Filter is also provided, which, when used with a separate infra-red lamp, allows video capture in total darkness.
