The device connects directly to a television or display via VGA, component or composite connections and to a networked Windows Vista, XP SP2, or 2000 SP4 computer via Ethernet or 802.11b/g wireless LAN. It supports both TVs and projectors at 1024×768 screen resolution for still images and 640×480 resolution at up to 30 frames per second for streaming video. Users control the connected computer using the PC-on-TV remote control, which can also be used to control web browsers.

The PC-on-TV supports YouTube videos, Google Video and media players including iTunes, Nero, Windows Media Player and RealPlayer. DirectX applications, however, are not supported.

D-Link is partnering with Veoh Networks to include its VeohTV on the DPG-1200’s "portal" landing page. VeohTV offers programming from media companies, as well as independently-produced content available on sites such as YouTube, Google Video, Veoh.com, MySpace and BitTorrent.

The DPG-1200 is available now at street pricing around $190.
