Marvell today announced a single-chip 4×4 802.11n device

The Avastar 88W8764 is targeted at enterprise access points, service provider gateways, high performance home routers, media and mobile servers, Digital TVs (DTVs), and Set-Top-Boxes (STBs).

Features include four transmit / receive chains, transmit beamforming, support for the national Chinese standard for Wireless LANs (WAPI), Wi-Fi Direct, Tunnel Direct Link Setup (TDLS), and Space Time Block Coding (STBC).

Marvell does not spec the device for 600 Mbps quad-stream 802.11n operation, however. The announcement says the 88W8764 supports only three spatial streams for up to 450 Mbps data rates.

Pricing and availability were not given.
