Synology says it has released new firmware that gooses the performance of all of its ARM-based NASes.

DSM 3.2-1955 is a free update that the company says will give its ARM-based NASes, i.e. those using a Marvell processor, "up to an 18.8% gain in performance".

The firmware update also is said to improve data transfer stability of USB 3.0 storage devices and compatibility of iSCSI targets with ESXi servers.

If your NAS is listed below, go grab the update and let us know what sort of throughput improvement you see.
