Buffalo TeraStation Pro II added to NAS Charts

I had been bugging Buffalo for awhile to get me either the TeraStation Pro II or Live so that I could see how the switch to a Marvell-based NAS platform affected performance. Looks like it helps quite a bit.

Check out the NAS Charts, which include data for 100, 1000 and 1000 w/ 4k jumbo LAN connections and RAID 0, 5 and 10 modes. Enjoy!

Linksys branding to be replaced by Cisco. No surprise here

The Uberpulse headline "Cisco kills Linksys brand, plans agressive move into consumer markets" is sure an attention getter, but comes as no surprise.

First, Chambers actually said: "It will all come over time into a Cisco brand"—which hardly amounts to an announcement that the Linksys brand has been, or will soon be, retired. And for those of us who deal regularly with the company and its products, it's really a statement of the obvious.

Should SmallNetBuilder add Forums?

Fridays are usually my day to do site housekeeping, which includes thinking about ways to improve SmallNetBuilder. Adding discussion forums has always been something that has been on the back burner, but I've never pulled the trigger.
