Egnyte has announced a new program for VARs to resell Egnyte’s hybrid cloud services.

Further promoting the concept of the hybrid cloud solution, Egnyte’s announcement will help resellers (VARs) bring value to their customers by training the VARs in supporting Egnyte-based solutions. Egnyte believes that hybrid solutions are the future of cloud storage.

One of the biggest issues plaguing the adoption of cloud solutions here in the US is the lack of high bandwidth, reliable internet connections. Only a fraction of the available populace has access to high speed fiber like Verizon’s FIOS or AT&T’s U-verse. Even when those connections become more widespread, hard drives (and especially SSDs) will have become even faster.

So Egnyte’s hybrid cloud is actually a good compromise. However, support is always a sore point with cloud companies, as they have limited “on the ground” presence for supporting installations. VARs can bridge this gap and do so for many other technologies (VMware for example).

Egnyte’s channel program will be familiar to anyone who’s applied to be a VAR. Commission levels are broken into tiers, which are dependent on how much you resell the service. Training and sales tools are being made available to enhance a reseller’s value proposition.

The program is available now, so if you’d like to join, take a look on the Egnyte website and register for more information.
