FilesAnywhere launches a new cloud backup and synchronization service called CoolBackup.

CoolBackup is a new personal cloud backup suite from FilesAnywhere, who is better known for its sync offering, Web Advanced. CoolBackup builds upon WebAdvanced by allowing for scheduling of backups, in addition to synchronization capabilities.

CoolBackup comes in two flavors: “Free” or Pro. The Free version is available to users who already have a Web Advanced subscription, which starts at $7.95 a month for 5 GB of storage, and one user account. The Professional version builds upon the Free version, by adding in real-time backup as files change on disk, and running as a Windows Service. Additionally, the Pro version can connect to other storage volumes, including other cloud services like S3, for backup destinations.

FilesAnywhere is offering a free 30-day trial of the Professional version. Users who currently have a Web Advanced subscription can go download the free version and start using it. Mac and Windows clients are available from the CoolBackup website.
