Ok, folks, break’s over.

I’ve returned from a nice vacation in Paris, during which I didn’t do any writing or editing. So thanks for putting up with no new articles for the past week or so.

But the world did continue to turn while I was away. So here are a few things that you also might have missed.

TRENDnet announced a 500 Mbps powerline adapter with built-in outlet.

The 500Mbps Powerline AV Adapter Kit with Bonus Outlet, model TPL-402E2K comes with two HomePlug AV compatible 500 Mbps adapters that feature a built in electrical outlet. The kit comes with a three year limited warranty and is currently shipping. The MSRP for the TPL-402E2K is US $179.99.

At Computex, Thecus announced 8, 12 and 16 bay rackmount NASes using Intel’s new Sandy Bridge processors. No pricing or availability info, though.

The three state-of-the-art NAS to boast Intel®’s new Sandy Bridge processors and Bromolow architecture are the brand-new 8-bay N8900 (Dual-Core i3 [email protected]), 12-bay and 16-bay N12000PRO and N16000PRO (Quad-Core Xeon E3-1280 @3.5GHz) NAS.

D-Link also announced new chassis-based and stackable switches and four new IP cameras at the Las Vegas Interop show this week.

The D-Link DGS-6604 chassis-based switch, DGS-3620 and DGS-3120 xStack series switches deliver superior performance, 10-Gigabit Ethernet (10GE) aggregation, and Power Over Ethernet (PoE) support with the flexibility of D-Link’s standards-based architectures.

The DCS-6511 dome network camera, the DCS-7110 outdoor network camera, and the DCS-5605 wired and DCS-5635 PTZ wireless network cameras allow for easy integration into existing network infrastructures and enable businesses to monitor, store and easily search video and audio associated with security events from any network or Internet connection cost-effectively and securely.
