Teleste logoFinnish company Teleste has announced a combination MoCA 2.0 / Wi-Fi adapter.

Teleste’s Ethernet over Coax Wi-Fi adapter combines Entropic’s EN2810 second-generation, single-chip MoCA 2.0 device with a four-port Gigabit Ethernet switch and 802.11ac access point.

A maximum of sixteen adapters can be connected to the same coax network at raw link rates up to 400 Mbps. The announcement also said a single pair of adapters could be connected at 1 Gbps using MoCA 2.0 "turbo" mode.

The new adapter appears to be an updated version of Teleste’s echoBox Ethernet over coax adapter. The ecoBox uses MoCA 1.1, which provides a maximum link rate of 200 Mbps. The echoBox has an unspecified four-port "hub" and 2.4 GHz 802.11n access point.

The company said the Ethernet over Coax Wi-Fi adapter is "currently available". But no pricing was given and there is no product page found on Teleste’s website. You’ll probably have to troll eBay to find any of these when they do become available, because Teleste sells to service providers only.
