NETGEAR Intros Gigabit VPN Router

The NETGEAR FVS318G ProSafe 8-Port VPN Firewall has eight Gigabit switched LAN ports, one Gigabit WAN port and is spec’d to provide 25 Mbps LAN to WAN throughput and 6,000 concurrent sessions. Hardware specs include a 250 MHz processor, 8 MB of flash and 32 MB of RAM.

VPN features include support for five IPsec tunnels that can be encrypted with 56-bit (DES), 168-bit (3DES), or 256-bit (AES), Manual and IKE keying, FQDN support for dynamic IP addresses and client-to-site and site-to-site tunnels. NETGEAR specifies total 3DES VPN bandwidth at 7 Mbps.

Routing features include NAT and standard routing modes, software-configurable hardware DMZ port, SPI + NAT firewall, keyword filtering, port/service blocking and a SIP application layer gateway

The FVS318G is available now via with street pricing around $130.
